TALAXIANS This race's background is elaborated in Jetrel. It has been defeated by the Haakonians around 2356. People from the planet Talax are very well traveled. They have spread widely throughout the Delta Quadrant, setting up colonies right up to the Nechrid Expanse. 17 years ago, their sister planet, Rhinax, was destroyed in a terrible holocaust. However, the people have recovered from this event, and they are a friendly, cooperative race. Neelix, Voyager's cook, is a member of this race.
