Once he's on the ship's near-deserted Bridge, The Doctor must determine what is and what is not reality. Much to his confusion and counter to his program, The Doctor shows human life signs when, during a struggle with a Kazon warrior, he experiencesinjury and pain. He meets Lieutenant Barclay, learns of Dr. Lewis Zimmerman, the engineer who wrote his medical holographic program and amazingly, discovers that The Doctor has a wife -- Kes. He's in a state of disbelief when Barclay tells him he must completely destroy Voyager.
