Due to the uncertaintly which has risen regarding departmental obligations and expectations, SF Command has assembled a list of executive task requirements.

The department head is required to provide the following:

  1. Submit to the Fleet Admiral bimonthly reports. These reports should contain details on all current projects and other relevant information.
  2. Clear all departmental projects with the Fleet Admiral before beginning.
  3. Notify the Fleet Admiral during the last week of the month of the officers who have performed beyond expectations and are deserving of the Officer of the Month Award for achievement.
  4. Submit to the Executive Editor (Cmdr. Tigris) prior to the last week of the calander month a summary of what has occured in the department. The information in this summary will be placed in the newsletter and mailed to all registered members at the end of the month.
  5. Ensure the department is functioning properly and all tasks are allocated fairly amongst the department members.
  6. If the Deputy or Vice Deputy is not performing to standard, the head may request the officer be relieved of his/her position. The head would contact the Fleet Admiral and explain the situation in detail.
  7. If the head is a senior officer, he must submit to the Promotion Manager/Coordinator (Capt. Fox) a list of all officers he feels are ready for a promotion at the end of the month. This would encompass ALL members of TF, ie regardless of what department he/she is in.
  8. If the head fails to submit bimonthly reports and newsletter summaries, he/she will be asked to step down as head. All department heads MUST follow the above protocol.

Since the clarification of such obligations is now crystal clear, all heads will be expected to submit their first report and newsletter summary in one week's time (June 24th).

The Deputy Head and Vice Deputy Head are expected to provide the following:

  1. Report on a regular basis to the Head regarding departmental projects and activities.
  2. Carry out any task the head hands them. If the department head is unhappy with the performance of the deputy or vice-deputy, he/she will be removed from their position depending on the situation.
  3. If there is an interdepartmental conflict between officers, the deputy and vice-deputy will take their concerns directly to the Fleet Admiral.

Starfleet Command would also like to take the time to clarify the role of the Administrations department. Administration is in charge of coordinating and managing the day to day operations of Ten Forward. As of this time there are 5 managers, each with a specialized job. They are as follows:

Department Coordinator/Manager - Fleet Admiral Adolf
Adolf is in charge of ensuring the departments are functioning correctly. This includes ensuring the department has a positive working environment, sorting out any dysfunctional relationships or conflicts, ensuring proper layout, content and continuity of departmental homepages, monitoring the progress of current projects, and ensuring all heads fullfil their obligations. Anything regarding the items listed here should be discussed with the Fleet Admiral.

File Manager - Admiral Rascal
Rascal is in charge of ensuring all site files, scripts, images, as well as overall design/layout are in order. If you encounter any glitches or problems relating to the items specified, contact the Admiral.

Executive Editor - Commander Tigris
Tigris is in charge of assembling the monthly newsletter. At the end of each calandar month the newsletter will be mailed to all registered members of Ten Forward. All department heads are expected to submit to Tigris WELL IN ADVANCE a summary of what has occured in their department over the course of the month. If there is something you wish to add to the newsletter, despite if you're not a department head, feel free to contact her.

Promotion and Command Code Manager - Captain Fox
Robert Fox is in charge of collecting all promotion requests and assembling them into a legible format. All senior officers (Lt. Cmdr. and above) are expected to submit to Fox during the last week of the calandar month a list of all the officers they feel are ready to be promoted. All promotion requests should be sent to Fox. Please do not send them to anyone else. Once a list has been assembled the Admirality will make the final promotion decisions and hand the list of promoted officers back to Fox. Fox will then allocate the new command codes to those promoted.

Special Events Coordinator - Commander Sunrise
Sunrise is in charge of coordinating any special event which may concern Ten Forward. As of now his task is to plan for Ten Forward's anniversary festivities which will take place sometime during August. Any suggestions regarding this or any other special event can be emailed to Sunrise.
