Here is a letter sent to the
official star trek site written by Alexander(Dr. Bashir) Siddig..It is his
views on the chaos...IMO he says it all
Dear All, If Christmas is a time when we get together to celebrate the family, and Thanksgiving marks a day of gratitude for the community New Year's a time of national cohesion ... then I hope history will remember Tuesday the eleventh of September 2001 as the day when humanity as a race came together to fight our common enemy within our own messed up brothers and sisters who share this world with us. I have been glued to the television these past two days, punching redial on my telephone every ten minutes or so for six hours yesterday until the international phone lines cleared up, just waiting to hear news of my little boy and his mother and his brother, all of whom I was worried about. During these past two days I have heard and seen gestures and moments of such courage and selflessness that I simply had to write to you, the only group of Americans I know (personally in many cases) if for no other reason than to remind you all that you are in sympathetic company all over the world. Your nation is not alone. The British Prime Minister has said today that this was not just an attack on the American people but on the free world. Leaders from nearly every country have unanimously stepped up to the plate to try and share your grief, offer their support and burden the responsibility of exacting some kind of revenge on the sad and lost people who did this. I like to think that the very few people who were in the vicinity and have so far survived these attacks have set an example for all of us. Their calmness, their understanding of what needed to be done, their ability to stop running and turn to help someone less fortunate than themselves are an example of what every one of us on this planet are capable of. If America is the leader of the free world (and I believe it is) then these Americans have lead by example. It isn't my place to tell any of you how to react your own personal consciences will, no doubt, be your guides but I would like to add 'my two cents' to your discussions on this topic and beg you to remember that many of the people who are saddened and shocked by all this are people who will, in the days to come, seem like your enemies people who had no part in this, who also have children and lovers and family. Many Islamic countries have condemned this action including aggressive states like Syria and Iran even Palestine. I am not a Muslim nor indeed am I a Christian, I am just another person bumbling through life, trying to stay on my own two feet and I am not an American, but I can hear what the rest of the world has to say about this tragedy and from what I can tell, the rest of the world is holding out a friendly, helping hand. It's possible that you may not need any other country's help but the hand is still there. I hope that when I see you again soon we can all say that our reactions to these atrocities have begun the process of putting an end to worldwide terrorism not perpetuating it. I sincerely hope that none of your families have been personally marked by all this. Sid |

The prediction about Tuesday's dreadful events is FALSE. To quote: 'Nostradamus did not write the quatrain now being attributed to him. (One wonders how a guy who died in 1566 could have written an item identified as being penned in 1654 anyway.) It originated with a student at Brock University in Canada in the 1990s, appearing on a web page essay on Nostradamus.' You can read the full text of the article HERE. Most importantly of all, remember that predictions, if worded vaguely enough, can be made to say ANYTHING. Please do not believe this nonsense about this fake prediction. It's simply not true. Words cannot describe how I felt
when I heard of the disasters in New York and Washington. It absolutely
blew me away... And still the absolute horror of what happened dazzles me.
It will simply not sink in. I cannot accept that there are people who can
actually do something like this. My thoughts are with my Outpost friends living in these cities. Fortunately you didn't suffer any physical injuries from this astrocity. The emotional blow must be immense though. It is impossible for us, who were not there, to try to understand how this must feel... We can only hope that we will never find out. My sincerest condolences to those of us who have lost family or friends... I wish you and your families strength in these difficult times. I hope that everybody, who is still in uncertainty about the wellbeings of people in the disaster areas, will be able to get into contact with them real soon. The uncertainty must be tearing you down... Should any of you need a shoulder to cry on, an ear to talk to or an arm to hit on, just let me know, okay? My email addy is http://www.outpost10f.com/cgi-bin/henri@outpost10f.com. I love you all, guys. You are not facing this alone, we will always be here for you when you need us. *group hugs* Henri |

I would
like on behalf of all Canadians here at Outpost10F our deepest condolences
in the face of such horrid atrocities your nations has faced with honour
and amazing pride over the last few days Even though we in Canada are limited to this point regarding providing aid, I encourage all of you to give blood. It is desperately needed and donations are being accepted by the Canadian Red Cross. Here is one number you can phone to contact the blood service in your communities. Again the above number is for residents of Canada. If you cannot get through, please contact the local services or hospitals for information. Regards, Rubicon |

How many hours have I spent
staring at this screen trying to find just the right words to describe
what I feel
I cannot, for the events that occurred that day are so horrific neither they, nor the emotions they have inspired, could ever be described in words. It was only after I realized this that I could write. I would like to extend my deepest, most heart felt condolences to those who suffer, and my thanks to those who have supported America in our time of trail. Above all, my friends, remember this: There was peace before that day, let there be peace when we are done.Eagle |

This has been a dreadfully
difficult few days. I cannot thank enough, the members of the Outpost for
their concern. Although I was alone in a city, surrounded by very tall
buildings, evacuated and headed out on my own, you were all there for me.
I cannot even imagine what i will find when I return to Tucson and start going through my New York clients, those who I have personally called on over the past 10 years, in the Trade Towers in New York City. But i am confident that with the support and friendship of everyone at the Outpost, I will manage. We are truly a global community - I become more and more aware of this every day, and in the past 24 hours, it has become so clear to me that this is the base, the core of our community. We are friends - we cross all religious, political, ethnic lines - we do not judge each other, we do not point fingers. We suppport, and try to understand each other and in times like these, we are all here for each other in our own special way. I cannot thank each and everyone of you, all of you, Americans, Euros, and everyone else, for your suppport, sympathies and prayers for the United States, the families and victims of this attack, and for your *hugz* to all of us. We are the best example that, as a community, we can get along, we can be friends, we can stand beside each other. Thank you so very much for being here for me, and every American. *Stands at attention and Salutes - ALL of us!* Cmdr. Kali D'or |

Just like HVG, I was at work
yesterday, when I heard the terrible news about the events in New York and
Washington. My thoughts at that moment, are best described by two lines from a song by U2 : 'I can't believe the news today, Unfortunatly, no one, not those involved, not those affected, not even
the rest of the world, can do anything to make it go away. |

On behalf of the British people I
wish to offer my extreme condolences to the American people during this
great time of need.
My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to those involved in the crisis or those who have lost friends and families. This was an attack on freedom everywhere, an attack on everything the pillars of civilised society are built around. Those pillars will not topple, not now, not ever. They are strong, the American people are strong and I firmly believe that nothing can destroy their resolve. World peace is something that all our countires strive for, something we all want, but there are those few (I mention no names because no proof has been found) who would want otherwise. It is gratifying and trully heart filling to me, that during this great time of need, people are pulling together to help others. Strangers who have no relation to anyone in the World Trade Center, offering their blood or trying to help the rescue workers. Sometimes our human kind is portrayed as greedy, money lusting people with no care for our fellow humans through different forms of war. But I believe, that we have seen the real human spirit over the past two days, we have seen that strangers will come together to help each other. The world comes together on this day in mourning. The USA, UK, France, Germany, Russia, Japan, China, Israel, Lybia, Australia and all the other countires, for there are too many for me to name. THIS WORLD STANDS UNITED IN MOURNING FOR A GREAT PEOPLE. The American people, the American spirit, will survive, nothing can stop it, not even this crisis. Again, my heart and thoughts to those in the United States, you are not alone, the world stands with you in condemning these deplorable acts. |

We watch with horror, we cry with fear, our heads bowed down in grief. Now as the world mourns, we send a message of love to all the people affected by this terrible attack. For the victims, we pray for peace. For the families and friends of those who lost their lives, we pray for strength. For the nation shattered by this tragedy, we pray for hope and courage. We pray that this incident can be brought to swift justice without any futher loss of innocent lives, and we pray that never again shall we see the shadow of evil upon peaceful shores. Mostly, we pray for the children, our future. May they be delivered from this darkness to inherit a better world, where the innocent are safe and freedom need not come at such a terrible cost. Our hearts are with you, America, God bless. |

I am deeply devastated by what has
happened in America. I wept yesterday in front of the TV and today I find
myself still in tears. I have to extend my personal thanks, and thanks on behalf of Americans on Foreign Soil, to the people of the UK & Europe for their amazing support and concern for America. As I am in England Ive personally found the warmth and sympathy of the English to be especially comforting. Their actions as a nation are truly born of brotherhood. My heart is with those who have lost family or who are waiting yet for news. |

In times of trouble, the German people share their deepest thoughts
with you in the United States of America, where such a tragedic
terroristic incident happened. I, personally, watched from 3 pm (my time,
when the first plane crashed) to 11 pm, without a break, the news. Every
German TV-channel interrupted its program to show what happened to our
friends, the Americans. I was overwhelmed and I couldn't sleep the whole
night. I never thought, that something like this could ever happen. It
wasn't only a terroristic act against you, it was a terroristic act
against the whole civilized world.
I will never forget what happened. And so are
the German people.
