The security department roster has now been made official.
It is as follows:
Cmdr. Tommy - HEAD
Lt. Cmdr. JKAD - SENIOR DEPUTY
DEPUTIES
Lt. Cmdr. Yala
Lt. Martin
Lt. Jadzia_Enor
Lt. Syla
Lt. Smiley
Lt. Steph
All other officers who were previously on the security team's
roster have been released. Remember that you haven't been fired;
these changes were made in order to improve the structure
of both this department and Ten Forward. We urge those
released to seek new positions in one of our other departments.
All security deputies have been issued level two phasers. They are
however expected to follow several guidelines. They are as follows:
- Do not have a cocky attitude when consulting or warning
violaters in Ten Forward. Just because you are a security officer
doesn't give you the right to bully other officers around.
- You should issue a friendly warning to a violator
before using the level two phaser or any form of weapon. Simply remind
the person of the rules without threatening him/her in any way.
- Never play with the level two phaser. It should only be used if
there is no other alternative. Horseplay will not be tolerated.
- You may handle all security problems in Ten Forward UNLESS an
officer of a higher rank tells you otherwise.
- Ensure that the accused violater is in fact breaking Ten Forward's
Prime Directives. You are not permitted to bump or ban a user just
because you don't like him/her or don't agree with something he/she
says.
- If after a firm verbal warning the violater continues to break the
Prime Directives you may use the level two phaser to bump him/her out of Ten
Forward.
- If the violater returns and continues to cause a problem, contact a
more senior officer for assistance and use the level two phaser again.
- You are required to report every instance where you are forced to
use the level two phaser to the Senior Deputy. The Senior Deputy will keep
a record of all such instances - this will include the violater's
handle, time and date, as well as the security deputy's name who fired the
phaser.
- The Senior Deputy will report any instance that he/she considers a
serious violation or potential future threat to the Head of the Security
department.
- Since the security department will not be very busy (as that is the
current trend in Ten Forward), promotions will not be issued based ONLY
upon your performance in this team. It simply would not be fair to everyone
else. For this reason we strongly recommend you join another department in
which you can participate in a project. If the security team becomes busier -
either it begins several projects of it's own, or we face more regular
security problems in Ten Forward - promotion points will surely be
accepted for work within this department. You will not receive any special
promotion privileges because you are a security deputy and will face the same
standards as all other officers who are working to earn a senior rank.
Failure to comply with these protocol will result in dismissal from the
security department.
