A senior officer's meeting was held on Thursday May 21st. The following
was discussed and decided upon:
Departments and departmental homepages
Guidelines were specified for the departmental pages.
They are as follows:
- Each department must have a complete, up to date, roster of
current department members. You may add ICQ images which show whether a
member is online or not if you like.
- Each department must have a description of what their
department does. Descriptions can be found at departments.htm.
This description should be placed on the main departmental page, and should be easily visible. You
may add to or edit this description if you like, however keep the main idea present.
- Each department must have links to the pages of the other departmental homepages of TF.
- Each page should have a listing of links to other sites (not necessarily directly related to Ten Forward)
which may aide members of the department with their work.
- Each department must have the official TF department image visible on their main page.
This image will become available in the next few weeks and will be handed to department heads.
- Each department must have an application form on thier page which
people can use to apply for the department. If you require help with this portion of HTML,
contact Cmdr. Hemlocke of the engineering department.
- Each department must have a link to the department's home email address as
well as a link to the webmaster's email address if possible.
- Each department should have a list of current and past projects - and a link
to these projects if possible.
- Webmasters should ensure that there are no html/java errors present, the
the page can be easily navigated, and that it follows a logical format.
Please remember that not everyone uses the same screen resolution - therefore
you must ensure that your page accomodates this.
- You are permitted to have your name listed officially with only one department.
You may unofficially aide other departments if you like, however your name
may only be present on one department roster. There are several members
who have their names listed with more than one department. If you're one of these
people please choose a home department and notify the other department heads
of your decision.
- Admiral Adolf will be viewing each department home page in a few weeks
to ensure the above measures have beem implemented. Feel free
to contact Admiral Adolf regarding any questions you may have concerning
departmental home pages. He'll be more than happy to answer them.
Other Issues
It was decided that all TF executives (department heads, deputies, vice deputies)
will receive a level two phaser and armory despite the rank they possess.
This is to beef up our security.
We will be conducting another department shuffle come promotion time.
Communications and Intelligence will be refaced.
The departments of TF lead by the Development Technologies group will begin
constructing the login page for a new chat we will be developing - a
Romulan Warbird. This login page will include the fields currently present
on TF's login, as well as an entirely new image button design. We are going
to need people to research into the computer control panels of a typical Romulan
Warbird in order to create the appropriate images. If you are interested
in aiding us in this project, please contact Cmdr. Robby. If you have knowledge
regarding romulan vessels we strongly suggest you come forward - you will
be rewarded if you are considered an asset in this project.
A word of caution - apparently someone has been impersonating some of our
junior officers. Be weary of this and check officer dossiers to ensure
the person you are talking to is indeed that person. If you realize someone
is a fraud, please record his/her IP address and send it to Cmdr. Tommy
of security.
As you have probably noticed, we have been upgrading and adding thing to TF.
The chat top images have been remade - ensuring high image quality and the
smallest possible image size. We have also altered the left hand control panel
to conform to a more logical layout. We will also be adding a few new options
to the main login site - so, be expecting change there as well. If you
encounter any problems regarding these altercations, please contact Admiral
Rascal.
